Leave No Trace is the standard of care for the outdoors — the recognized benchmark for how
responsible outdoor recreation is taught and practiced. We use science, education, and
stewardship to keep outdoor spaces healthy and open to everyone.
Leave No Trace in Colorado — Why Avon FreeFall Bluegrass Festival Gives Back
Proceeds raised through FreeFall Fest go directly toward supporting core Leave No Trace
programming in Colorado. That funding will help residents and visitors alike learn how to enjoy
Colorado's outdoors responsibly, so the places we camp, hike, ski, bike, and gather stay healthy
and accessible for the next generation.
Beyond the festival grounds, Leave No Trace runs core programming across Colorado in
partnership with land managers such as Colorado Parks and Wildlife, ranger and staff training,
trailhead education, volunteer stewardship days, and support for parks pursuing Gold Standard site
certification. That work already touches CPW’s roughly 400 properties statewide, including 42 state
parks and more than 350 wildlife areas.
